Why be a member?

Members are the lifeblood of any amateur theatre company, serving as its beating heart and driving force. Without dedicated individuals passionate about the performing arts, the vibrant tapestry of community theatre would cease to exist. There are several compelling reasons why members are vital to the success and sustainability of an amateur theatre company.

First and foremost, members bring diverse talents, skills, and perspectives to the table. From actors and singers to set designers, costume makers, and stagehands, each member contributes their unique abilities to the collective effort of bringing productions to life. This diversity fosters creativity and innovation, enriching the quality of performances and enhancing the overall experience for both participants and audiences alike.

Moreover, members serve as ambassadors for the theatre company within the community, helping to promote its productions and activities. Their enthusiasm and dedication are contagious, attracting new audiences and supporters while fostering a sense of pride and belonging among local residents.

Additionally, members provide crucial support in terms of time, energy, and resources. Whether volunteering backstage during rehearsals and performances, fundraising, or lending their expertise in various capacities, their commitment ensures the smooth functioning and financial stability of the theatre company.

Why do I have to pay a membership fee?

It is essential that those performing are 'paid up' members of the Company to ensure our insurance covers you in case of any mishaps!

Tell me about the shows...

We usually plan to perform a show each May and October and rehearsals for these begin up to 3 months earlier and are normally held 3 day a week.  The days are determined by the production team at the start of the process and are usually held at either the British Legion or the Manor House.  Of course not all the cast are necessarily required at every rehearsal.

You can also see some information on the past shows on this website

We also hold regular social events such as Quiz nights, Bowling evenings, Race Nights etc both to enjoy ourselves and help raise funds.

Why should I get involved?

Being part of an amateur theatre company offers members a sense of belonging and camaraderie. It provides opportunities for personal growth, skill development, and meaningful social connections, fostering a supportive and inclusive community where individuals can explore their passion for the performing arts together.

In essence, members are the backbone of an amateur theatre company, driving its artistic endeavors, fostering community engagement, and enriching the cultural fabric of society as a whole. Their dedication and commitment are invaluable, laying the foundation for memorable performances and enduring bonds that transcend the stage.
